HISTORY

In 1929 Ben Matz and John Pincus joined forces and opened the firm Pincus & Matz. From their Standard Bank Chambers in Wynberg, they moved to the Duncan Taylor's Building on the corner of Maynard and Main Roads in 1935. When JL Feinberg joined as partner in 1944, the firm became Pincus Matz & Feinberg. In 1954, at the request of the then Permanent Building Society, they opened a second office in the Permanent Building in Claremont. In 1986, Pincus Matz & Feinberg and Marquard & Hugo-Hamman amalgamated forming Pincus Matz - Marquard Hugo-Hamman. The name was shortened to Pincus Matz & Marquard in 1997. In 2012, the firm came a full circle after 84 years and operates once more as Pincus Matz. Today the firm is housed at Pincus Matz House in Brodie Road, Wynberg.
